Silverwoods Studio

SilverWoods Studio is located at 450 Harrison Ave. Boston MA in the heart of the SOWA art district of Boston.  The building contains 15 galleries and over 50 artists studios.  Steve Silver and Beverly Woods paint in their studio where they also display their work.    See the Events page for shows that the artists will be participating in and dates that SilverWoods Studio will be open to the public, or call Steve Silver at (978) 337-4191 or Beverly Woods at (914) 656-8618 for an appointment or prices.  Visitors are always welcome and the studio is open most week day afternoons.

Stephen Silver

Stephen Silver is a contemporary oil painter who specializes in landscapes and scenes from nature.  Through his artwork, he transforms the environment into abstract images. Some are recognizable, and some less so, but they’re always expressions of his inner emotions. Steve interprets nature to create imagery that evokes his emotional attachment to his surroundings. His goal is to freely use color and shape to create paintings that are esthetically pleasing and interesting while still conveying nature and a sense of place.  The place may be interpreted differently by different viewers, but that just adds to the mystery of the painting.

Steve, a native of New York, graduated from Carnegie Mellon University. He has studied at the Museum of Fine Arts School in Boston and has been a student of master artist Tom Ouellette.  Steve’s work can be seen in galleries, has been in numerous shows and is in many private collections. It can also be viewed at his studio, located at 450 Harrison Ave. in SOWA, a major artist’s community in Boston.

Steve is the founder of the SOWA Artists Guild, an association of approximately 50 studio artists.  The Guild sponsors First Friday events every month at 450 Harrison Ave. in Boston.   A lifelong artist, Steve was able to devote full time to his painting after a successful business career in which he was CEO of several high tech companies.

Beverly Woods

Beverly Woods extensive world travels are the source of the inspiration for her large and diverse body of work.  From the fields of Africa to the delicate figures of Japan, Beverly's reinterpretation of these images often capture native figures from foreign lands brought to life with bright splashes of color "Beverly's painting of the Masai woman transported us to another land and culture" stated David Bowman of Newton, Mass.

Beverly graduated from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland with a minor in art and since then has studied with Paul Wood of Port Washington, NY.   Beverly also has studied at the New York Art Students league in NYC.  She is a member of the SOWA Artists Guild of 450 Harrison Ave.   Bev has lived in Boston for the last three years attending the Museum of Fine Arts School and studied with Marlene Oliver at the Museum School.  Her work is in private collections and has been on display at the Museum School in 2004 and South End Open Studios.
